Research
H. Sabdariffa has been shown to be an effective, well tolerated anti-hypertensive in human trials. In studies on rats, a crude methanolic extract exhibited vasodilatory effects on the aorta – believed to be mediated by inhibition of calcium (Ca2+) influx into vascular smooth muscle cells.
